everything wrong with free software
"obedience breeds foolishness"

ive called techrights a mouthpiece for the fsf on more than one occasion. i meant theyre a mouthpiece for the new (open source occupied) fsf.
techrights responds by saying theyre free software, not open source. thats probably a good article in which to disclose that open source (a company with "open source" in the name, connected to fsfe, red hat and canonical) is what pays the authors bills.
today, roy accidentally confessed what techrights really is by quoting orwell:
> "Journalism is printing what someone else does not want printed: everything else is public relations."-- orwell, as quoted here: http://techrights.org/2022/03/05/miguel-quits-or-pushed-out/
so when he did a 180 on the fsf, stating what he REALLY thinks in irc while acting as a cheerleader in articles, telling people to throw money at corruption, what was that again?
my favourite "royd" (a royd is either an inflamed welt near the anus, or a favourite trope as used by techrights) is the "gish gallop"-- roy has used this term (established well prior) countless times to describe an endless stream of claims far too lengthy to be responded to. the way you cut through a gish gallop is to take several of the claims as samples and respond to those.
with many more than 30,000 posts in 15 years (more than 2,000 posts a year, roughly 40 per week or ONE PER HOUR in a 40-hour week for a decade and a half straight) techrights could claim itself as the largest "gish gallop" ever published.
but what purpose does this one-post-per-hour for more than a decade serve? the same thing the author gets paid for: the takeover of free software by corporations. mostly of course, it serves (like all open source ultimately) as a shrine from the author to himself-- which happens to assist the takeover of free software inadvertently. this is the modus operandi of open source to a t: hand over control of free software to the juggernaut, and you can glorify yourself as much as you like until open source (once again) eats its own.
open source devours all in its path. its nothing more than companies like ibm or microsoft, abusing free licenses and "contributions" (as bait) to work against users. it is the opposite of free software, dressed in a buffalo bill design made from free softwares own skin.
